چکیده

Changes in the plant water status, biochemical and hormonal responses, were investigated three olive cultivars (Arbequina, Arbosana Chetoui) grown a super-high-density orchard under partial root-zone drying (PRD) irrigation. Four irrigation treatments applied during two growing seasons (2015 2016); control treatment (100 % ETc) irrigated at 100 of crop evapotranspiration on both parts PRD PRD, 75 50 PRD) %, only one alternated part root-zone. The results indicated that studied showed clear difference their response to Arbequina cultivar has shown conservative strategy for using since relative content (RWC) stem potential (?stem) reduced more Chetoui In fact, led strong activation secondary metabolites with antioxidant properties such as pigments, phenols flavonoids. Other metabolic changes, including accumulation soluble sugars proline have been also triggered by Among cultivars, displayed highest levels proline, total sugars, flavonoids, lowest ones Malondialdehyde (MDA) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). increase Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) guaiacol peroxidase (POD) activity reduction polyphenoloxidase (PPO) pronounced 2016 season activities obtained from Arbequina. For all increased phytohormones concentration both, roots leaves recorded 2016. leaves, abscisic acid (ABA), jasmonic (JA), salicylic (SA) indole-3-acetic (IAA). induces higher ABA, JA IAA dried than wetted ones. Taken together, physiological mechanisms induced effective suggesting better protection foliar functions compared other its adaptability PRD.

Antioxidant and yield responses of wheat and clover in intercropping system to late season water deficit induced by partial root-zone irrigation regime

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of planting pattern and irrigation system on antioxidant activity of wheat and Persian clover. The experiment was carried out as a two-factor factorial with three replications. The first factor was irrigation system (conventional and partial root-zone irrigation) and the second was planting pattern (sole wheat, sole Persian clover, alterna...

investigating maize root growth pattern under partial root zone drying (prd) and regulated deficit irrigation (rdi)

plant performance and freshness is related to the pattern of its root growth development, which is highly affected by the water amount and water use management. therefore, the spatiotemporal variation of maize root under five treatments including full irrigation treatment (fi), partial root-zone drying treatments at two levels (receiving 75% of et =prd75, and 55% of et= prd55) and deficit irrig...

Partial Root-Zone Drying of Olive (Olea europaea var. 'Chetoui') Induces Reduced Yield under Field Conditions

The productivity of olive trees in arid and semi-arid environments is closely linked to irrigation. It is necessary to improve the efficiency of irrigation techniques to optimise the amount of olive fruit produced in relation to the volume of water used. Partial root-zone drying (PRD) is a water saving irrigation technique that theoretically allows the production of a root-to-shoot signal that ...

improving water/fertilizer use efficiency of hydroponically cultured greenhouse tomato by partial root zone drying, deficit irrigation and hydrogel amendment

soilless culture of greenhouse vegetables has been a fast developing section in iran during recent years. most growers fertigate plants without enough knowledge about plant water requirements. since some soilless substrates have low water retention capacity, wasting a great amount of nutrient solution can be occurred due to poor management. in this research work, effects of hydro gel amendment ...

A review on partial root-zone drying irrigation

Available fresh water resources are subjected to an ever-increasing pressure due to extensive agricultural water demand for irrigated lands. A long-term perspective in shortage of fresh water resources, especially in arid and semi-arid area, highlights an urgent solution for innovative irrigation strategy and agricultural water management. This paper is a review on the wide applications of the ...
